Week Ending March 28, 2008

Well once again I've had a very busy week. Monday I was out of quite a few things in the pantry so grocery store was on list, eye doctor and things have just been busier and busier all week long. I'm still waiting for the new frames for glasses, hopefully this coming Monday, we'll see. I finally had my breathing test today at my Doctors office and unfortunately the news isn't as good as last year. I failed the flipping thing miserably and my concern is that there might be a reason for it. I had a horrible choking spell last Friday and I like to have never worked through the blasted thing, but I think my lungs were still fatigued from that and I mentioned this to the RN and she said yes and took all kinds of notes to go with the test so we'll have to wait and see. All day Sunday I will be doing another test. I'm ready for next week to be here. This past week has been rather unusual and quite challenging to say the least. Next week April starts and with March being as nasty as it was April should be beautiful and I can finally get outside. I'm really looking forward to that let me tell you.

EASTER WEEKEND

Easter Sunday turned out to be a real nice day after having been sick on Sat. Spent the day in the Durango area, revisiting memories from my youth. Like -- Grandad Stuckmans little old house has been remodeled and if you didn't know for sure you would think it had been torn down. It has sort of a cedar shakes on the sides, propanel roof and really looks nice. I would like to see the inside. Went up the old highway towards Trimble, I haven't been that way in years and then on up to Purgatory (Durango Mtn.) and how many Easters do you see the slopes covered with skiers and snow boarders. Between Needles and Purgatory the houses on the West side of the highway have snow half way up the sides, and you can just now see a dot of fences posts starting to poke thru from snow settlement. I praised the Lord for giving me such a fullfilling day after feeling the way I did Sat. Went in to have my lung test done this AM and had to be rescheduled until Fri. because equipment wasn't working. So I have paid a few bills and can't get into the mood to do anything else for the blasted wind is blowing again.

Who I Am

My name is Auntie Em and I'm recently retired after working for one company for over 41 years, I know, I can't even believe it at times. Do I miss working, NO WAY JOSE!!!! Every hour of every day is so full of things to do and when a friend calls saying lets go to lunch, you ask them to give you time to change your clothes. I often make the comment that I don't know how I found time to work, but I think that I let a lots of things go. I own my home which sets on 4 large lots and now that the weather is finally pretty in Colorado I'm spending considerable time outside each day working in flower beds, yard and I get concerned that I'm not making any head way until I take inventory of everything that I have accomplished, then I finally feel better. Right after I retired I had some medical issues, but those have been resolved with great success. A very good Doctor and putting my concerns in the Lord's hands. I am truly blessed and enjoy each and every day to the fullest.

I have two female dogs who are worse than most peoples children, but they keep me company and are lots of fun. I love reading. I always have a book going and I take one with me whenever there is the possibility of a long wait therefore I don't get grumpy because I had to wait. I am a bird watcher. I never thought anything could be so much fun. I have really had some interesting birds migrating thru this Spring.
