When I came back from running errands on Sat. I saw that the top of my Maple tree was this brilliant red and then I got to looking at the Virginia Creeper on the fence and saw all of these wonderful colors which have not been there for the last 3 fall seasons.
So I decided yesterday that I was going up the river to look at colors. (Yes, I know. I wish I really had the hang of this digital camera, I think I know then I go to use and I can't get it to work).
I went up to Lizard Head Pass and then turned around and came back. No one else wanted to go so I went by myself. The colors were absolutely spectacular. The oak bushes are every color under the sun, and the Aspens are magnificent in their own right. So the past two REAL winters have definitely had something to do with the fall colors, even though they say that we did not get the right amount of snow in the mountains this last winter. Wish I knew a little more about this kind of stuff.
Have been busy trying to get ready for winter with outside stuff and then in October I want to do deep cleaning in the house. Sorry that is just how I was raised. We had 2 weeks of really cold weather, have had our first freeze but I didn't loose anything as my sprinkler system came on that night and theres not a doubt in my mind that is what saved my container garden and flower beds.
Life is very busy and people that get bored with retirement must not have much going on in their lives as I manage to stay very, very busy and love every minute of it.

Things Of Interest
For those of you that have known about the leaking problem between my deck roof and house roof, well the fall rains have started in earnest and I sincerely believe that this problem is no more. In the past it has not taken very much rain for the leaking to begin. We have had 3 very healthy storms since last Friday evening and I can not find any place that has leaked. Certainly hope that I have not jinked anything by doing this post.
Have been very busy outside trying to get things in order before the first hard freeze so that things are easier to take care of come next Spring. I really don't know where the Summer has gone too. For one thing we did not have any Spring here this past year. We jumped from winter right into Summer. I kid you not we ran our furnace's up through the 1st part of June and a couple of times after that even.
Last weekend my sister-in-law came down from the mountains as she had to go back to work this last Tue. so she and I went out to lunch at Kuchus on Sunday and got caught up our our visiting.
Got my flu and pneumonia shots this last Tue and have had a slight reaction to the pneumonia shot, have run a fever in the shot area and it also got quite sore. Have been doing the alcohol swapping of it all long today and it is doing much better. I still have some fever in the area but not as much as there was.
Really don't have anything else to post so will talk with everyone later.
