Vacation Fun

Well as most of you know Mamma's Meandering Mind, Her Man & Pickle Puss have been here in the valley this past week. What fun we have had. I have truly enjoyed their company to no end, along with my brother and wife. First couple of days was just kind of hanging out and then it was on to more fun things.

Today is definitely my day of rest. However I did get up early to spray my trees again. This time I used the soap solution that is so very popular in Arizona. If it can take care of some of those monster bugs that they have down there it certainly can take care of some of these Colorado critters.

Once again I think about, I just can't begin to tell everyone how much I'm enjoying my retirement. It is so nice to just be able to get cleaned up from what ever you were doing and just take off and go do something fun. You don't have this option when you work.

I have mentioned in past blogs that everything is so far behind this year here in Colorado. Another example are my Day Lilies. They usually bloom before the 15th of June and here they are just starting to bloom today. I will also in a day or two have my first tomatoe out of my container garden. Knowing how truly easy this is I may add more containers next year with some lettuce and stuff. I love fresh lettuce out of the garden. Guess I had better get to the Farmer's Market next Sat. Have just been to busy to make it so far.

Almost two weeks ago, I put up a temporary fence on my east side so that I could reseed once again as Sassy thinks you run, jump and slide and had totally uprooted large areas of grass. When I did the seeding I had decided that I'm keeping her fenced out until next Spring to allow the grass to really take hold. Any way what I was leading up to is by waiting until the nights were warmer I had grass coming up on the 8th day. I planted, covered with straw to hold moisture in and now it is as thick as the fur on one of the pups.

I'm anxiously awaiting some of Mamma's Meandering Mind's photos. She took some that should be just spectular. She is So-o-o-o-o-o good with a camera. I do good to just focus, but maybe in the future I might get a digital. Just have some other expensive items to take care of first and money is a consideration when your retired.

Sounds like a great week! Wish I could have joined you all!

I'm also very happy to hear that things are still blooming--and that it isn't just hotter than the blazes already!

I'll check back soon!
