Well it is not enough that I am busy, I had to stop and figure a place for my annual physical and low and be hold the receptionist at the doctors office scheduled me for yesterday.
It was an excellent visit. She added some additional back exercises to my group of exercises I'm already doing and then she also set me up with the pulmonary department over at the hospital for some lung therapy. She says if I just pick up one thing that I haven't been told or figured out on my own it will be worth attending the sessions.
I'm not any better, I'm not any worse off. But my condition is incureable with the multitude of breathing problems that I have therefore the name COPD. I know every time I go to do something my first consideration is how can I do that and be on my oxygen. Certain activities take more oxygen, so you turn the cylinder up and then it empties faster so you need another cylinder.
Last Sunday when we went to Durango I elected to use my backpack setup which takes a "Fatter" cylinder and it worked out fine. I had about a quarter of a tank left in the one when I got home. I had several people ask me where did I get my setup from and how long had I been on the oxygen to be so comfortable and relaxed with it. I'm finding out a lots of people get very nervous when they are around people on oxygen. I have to be honest there are times I forget that I am on it when using the fanny pack and if it is unbuckled I will start to take off until the line reminds me to pick the fanny pack up.
The fact of my life is "I HAVE TO BE ON MY OXYGEN 24/7" and I want a good quality of life therefore it is up to me to make that happen so therefore I'm off to find out what I haven't learned come Tue. 09/02/08.

Brilliant! Sounds like you had a productive appointment. I'm pleased to hear the doc had some more things to help you keep your quality of life...I know you are completely enjoying retirement!
I really hope the next appointment is useful too!
