I want to share my experiences of the past 2 days. 3 of my very dear friends from high school check my blog and I know they will more than understand what my frustration has been.
I need to set the background for you. While I worked (granted I had the 1st company PC stuck in front of me to see if it would work for company operations or not), but that is basically where it ended. A computer person was hired and whenever something went wrong with my computer I was told not to touch it, get hold of the computer person. So this is what I always did. When I retired two years ago and I purchased my computer setup for home through the company the main computer person was to come out and set everything up for me. (He had the computer preloaded with everything under the sun along with Windows Live E-mail. Well originally Qwest set me up with q.com for my e-mail provider.) Well he never came, and never came and so finally I decided how hard can this be. Did I ever learn. I managed to get everything totally setup with the help of Qwest who is my high speed Internet provider and DELL.
Well yesterday I had problems with my Internet and it was on my end. I have figured out on my own that in trying to get around registering with Windows Live for my e-mail, I locked myself out of the Internet connection.
My wonderful sister-in-law gave me the technical support telephone number at Qwest. I called and the nicest lady that could speak perfect ENGLISH bailed me out. The biggest thing with her & Qwest was to make sure that I was who I said I was and not a hacker.
Well I contacted OCM & Ber for 2 e-mails I had sent to them that I did a address book mail asking that they send back to me so I could recreate my contact list, but low and behold this AM I had all of this information on my computer from Windows Live. So to make a long story short I had bothered the girls for nothing.
Now that I'm using Windows Live E-mail I should not have any more e-mail problems (anyway I certainly hope that it stops here).
Then Shawn came yesterday to install the new digital antenna so that I will be able to receive all of the new digital channels off of the antenna. Once again a complete learning process. On the TV with the converter box, two remotes have to be used and even though my large TV had to be replaced now with the antenna (and scanning the antenna) I'm back to two remotes until such time as I ever have to call Dish Network for any repairs and I will have the tech program the Dish remote where I think it will cover both items.
So FRUSTRATION has a whole total new meaning for me at the present time.
So how was your weekend?
Why am I talking about all of this now, well about an hour ago I was going to check e-mails under this crazy new e-mail address and low and behold I could not make my internet connection work. So I was just about ready to disconnect, box up to take to AZ with me this next weekend and let J look at and tell me what all of this strange jibberish is trying to tell me.
